IEDE does not guarantee Certification or credential granting to any learner, and retains the right to deny Certification or credential granting based upon the learner’s performance during the training, or demonstrated questionable ethical behavior (i.e., evidence of cheating), or other concerns. Learners have the right to request a review of their specific situation from the IEDE team if they do not agree with any decisions made. Ultimately, IEDE makes the decisions about granting or denying Certification and credentialing in order to uphold professional ethical responsibilities and to safeguard professional Certifications and credentials.
Will I be an “expert” on treating eating disorders when I finish this course?
No training out there can guarantee expertise in our opinion, and this one cannot either. Given the infinite complexity and individual uniqueness of eating disorders, we all will need to continue learning about them over the course of our careers. This training should provide a solid foundation on which to build experience in eating disorder treatment.
It is entirely your responsibility to integrate the knowledge we present in our trainings into your practice. It is entirely your responsibility to embody the antiracism education we present, and integrate onto your practice (and hopefully your life).
All of this work requires continuous learning, and will stretch us beyond our comfort levels.
There are simply no guarantees whatsoever, and we hope that by taking our trainings, you will be in a far better position to provide competent, inclusive, and excellent eating disorder care. Just like any other professional training, your clients/patients are wholly your responsibility.
