Inclusive Eating Disorder Advanced Specialist

Putting it all together

Inclusive Eating Disorder Education, PLLC. began building the first training in 2021, and it was finally released after 3 years of blood, sweat, and tears in early 2024. Since then we have revised and improved the program and the platform for our second edition, released in 2026. The Inclusive Eating Disorder Specialist certification has quickly become the preferred eating disorder training in the larger eating disorder community, both in the US and internationally. The scope, values, and usable information remains unmatched among eating disorder training credential programs.

The demand for consultation and additional learner support has driven us to create Consultation Cohorts for our IEDS clinicians. Each Consultation Term will last 3 months and will be administered by one of our Inclusive Eating Disorder Advanced Specialist Consultants. These are clinicians who are aligned with our ideals and who have served people in the eating disorder community for a minimum of 5 years.

How?

Consultation Cohorts will include both group and individual sessions. Each cohort will be between 15-20 clinicians, ideally moving together through each Term. All meetings will be virtual to increase accessibility and convenience. Each cohort group will move through sessions guided by one Consultant per term, but moving through a variety of Consultants during a minimum of 6 Terms.

Sign up by emailing us at support@inclusiveeatingdisordereducation.com, or see below for an information link or the calendar links.

What?

Each term will focus on a learning theme while providing case consultation and ongoing assessments of learners skills.

Group sessions will be held once a month for 90 minutes. Individual sessions will occur once per term, lasting 45-60 minutes. This provides each clinician with 27 group hours and 6 individual hours of consultation and assessment.

Term 1: Scope, Roles, and Overlaps

Term 2: Social and Cultural Considerations

Term 3: Support for Supports

Term 4: Nutrition Traps

Term 5: Implementation of Therapeutic Skills

Term 6: Assessment and Evaluation

An additional 7th and 8th Term may be recommended if needed.

Additional individual sessions can be purchased separately, if needed or desired.

Who?

This program is for clinicians by clinicians. Go beyond the piecemeal research presentations about random eating disorder topics. The full eating disorder treatment puzzle comes together with the IEDS and the IEDAS trainings and credentials.

For those who are just beginning the journey, the first step is to register for the IEDS comprehensive eating disorder training. Clinicians can concurrently enroll in the Consultation Cohorts while completing the training. The education program must be completed by the end of the second Term, before moving forward to the third Term.

Why?

At IEDE we created this advanced consultation program based on feedback and demand from the larger eating disorder community. We created this format in order to provide the highest quality consultation at the most accessible investment. Each Term is $250, and we are committed to providing access for those facing financial hardship.

Our credentialing programs are the only ones created by practicing clinicians for clinicians, including both dietitians and therapists. We are completely self-funded to ensure our trainings are free from outside financial persuasion.

As group practice owners, we wanted a training to use for our own employees. Due to the lack of affordable, comprehensive, timely trainings, we created one. Now we are happy to share it with others who may find themselves looking for the same thing we were.

Cohort Consultant, Term 2

Dr. Morgan Lucas, PsyD, IEDASC

Dr. Lucas has been working in the eating disorder field since 2012, when she was the Clinical Director of Project Bliss (an ED group home). She has continued to work in private practice as well as with college students at The University of Texas, in Arlington, TX.

One focus theme for her Term is social and cultural considerations in treating those in the eating disorder community. Her approach partly entails helping those with certain privileges better understand and provide improved care for people with different lived experience.

Consultation Director:

Amy Helms, IEDASC, RD, LCSW, CEDS-C

We are delighted to have Amy Helms, a well-known, highly respected, dual licensed professional (therapist and dietitian) as our Consultation Director. She will be leading the first and last terms to assess clinician readiness and skill level. Amy owns and runs her own group practice. She has been working with eating disorder clients for over a decade in multiple capacities.

Amy values continuing her own learning. She has additional training and/or certification in the following areas:
